William O. King

Of Counsel - Litigation

William O. King is a former Walker Lambe member, and has rejoined the firm in an Of Counsel capacity. Mr. King is a past President of the North Carolina Bar, a former President of the North Carolina Trial Lawyers Association, a graduate of the University of North Carolina, and a graduate of Wake Forest University School of Law. After college, he worked as a reporter for the Sports section of the Durham Herald-Sun. He served 33 years in the North Carolina National Guard, retiring with the rank of Colonel and was State Judge Advocate for 3 years. His experience also includes serving as a Visiting Professor of Law at Campbell University for ten years, providing instruction in the areas of Trial Practice, Ethics and Law Practice Management.

In his career, Mr. King has received many accolades for his achievement as an Attorney at Law. He has been listed in Best Lawyers in America and North Carolina’s Super Lawyers list for over 30 years. He was the recipient of the NC Chief Justice’s “Professionalism” Award, the NCSB John McMillan Distinguished Service Award, and was honored by Lawyers Weekly with “leaders in the law” recognition. In his free time, he is a member of St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church in Durham (5 times Senior Warden).
